Happy New Year!
It's 2022 already... The #ConfinedCrafting blog is now a year old. Which brings me to my first resolution: update the blog more often! I haven't been a regular blogger and I would really like to make a good go of regular updates here.
My second resolution involves following projects through to the end before getting distracted planning a new project! I really enjoy the process of planning, choosing a pattern, assembling the kit, even cutting out the fabric, and often at that point I start to sew then run out of time to finish in one go, then just ... Never pick it up again. Even if I really want the thing I am making! Hence the resolution to focus and finish on a project before starting another.
My third resolution is to keep my sewing area tidy! I'm so lucky to have a corner of a room dedicated to my sewing hobby but it's always a mess and that puts me off sitting down to sew as I have to tidy first every time. This probably has something to do with the unfinished projects mentioned above as they're scattered around in piles. I'm going to look at some new storage solutions to help with this.
My fourth and final resolution is to progress my projects every day. I think I will make more progress doing something, however small, daily; than not sewing for 3 weeks and losing momentum.
Projects Planned for 2022:
- Making myself more #historybounding outfits.
- Making some #Disneybounding summer dresses for me and the girls to wear on our Disneyland Paris trip this August.
- Making the Jacobin Day Quilt
- Making a memory quilt from the girls' baby clothes.
Experimenting with layout for the baby clothes memory quilt
- Making a cushion for our living-room window bay from an embroidered tablecloth made by my grandmother
Phew - that should see me through the year!
